This eco-nightmare affects popular American models like the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe, exposing the dangers beneath the hood of these so-called environmentally friendly vehicles.

The recall covers 154,032 vehicles in the United States alone, spanning model years 2020-2024 for the Wrangler 4xe and 2022-2024 for the Grand Cherokee 4xe.

Owners are being warned to park their vehicles outside and away from structures, and to avoid charging them until a fix is implemented.

This drastic measure comes after 13 reported battery fires, with two injuries already confirmed.

Stellantis estimates that 5% of the recalled vehicles may have the defect, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration did not provide the exact details of the issue immediately.
