(FreePressBeacon.com) – Hiding her dismal record behind a campaign that is all about her opponent, Kamala Harris went to Chicago to officially become the Democrat nominee for president.
However, she made most of her acceptance speech an attack on GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Harris warned of “serious” consequences if Trump were to win in November, pinpointing several areas from abortion rights to border security.
Interestingly, she secured the nomination without a single vote from Democrat primary voters.
“Fellow Americans, this election is not only the most important of our lives, it is one of the most important in the life of our nation. In many ways, Donald Trump is an unserious man. But the consequences of putting Donald Trump back in the White House are extremely serious,” she stated during her speech.
She described Trump’s first term as a time of “chaos and calamity” and criticized his actions related to the January 6 riot.
“Donald Trump tried to throw away your votes. When he failed, he sent an armed mob to the United States capitol where they assaulted law enforcement officers,” she claimed.
On the day of the riot, Trump had called for his followers to protest the 2020 election results peacefully.
Harris continued, “Consider what he intends to do if we give him power again. Consider his explicit intent to set free violent extremists who assaulted those law enforcement officers at the capitol.”
In her speech, Harris also took aim at Trump for opposing a recent border security bill and vowed to both secure the border and create a pathway for illegals to get citizenship.
Trump quickly hit back on Truth Social, lambasting the border bill and Harris’ stance on it.
“The Border Bill is one of the worst ever written, would have allowed millions of people into our Country, and it’s only a political ploy by her! It legalizes Illegal Immigration, and is a TOTAL DISASTER, WEAK AND INEFFECTIVE!” Trump wrote.
“She doesn’t need a Bill,” he argued. “As President, Crooked Joe and her could have just said, “CLOSE THE BORDER!” like I did – I didn’t have a Bill, I didn’t need a Bill.”
The Democrat National Convention kicked off with a bang on Monday, drawing thousands of far-Left protesters to Chicago for the event.
