(FreePressBeacon.com) – Putting left-wing hostility front and center, a group called the New Tolerance Campaign recently unveiled a “Hate Map” that pinpoints where political hate happens on college campuses and other places.
This map is especially focused on showcasing instances where liberal groups show hostility toward conservative viewpoints.
The map is an interactive tool that shows where 201 organizations or individuals that engage in “hard left extremism” are located across various campuses.
This effort is seen as a response to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hate Map, which focuses on alleged conservative hate aimed at liberals.
According to the New Tolerance Campaign, the organizations listed on their map have been involved in promoting or engaging in violence against those they disagree with.
The list includes a variety of groups labeled as “Radical LGBTQ Activists & Groups,” “Antisemitic Organizations & Individuals,” “Environmentalist & Animal Rights Groups,” “Rogue Non-Profits and Individuals” and “Left-Wing Extremist Groups.”
Campaign president Gregory Angelo shared that their current focus includes groups found on 17 different university campuses.
He noted that many student groups currently highlighted on their website have spread extreme antisemitic rhetoric and even assaulted Jewish students, though they monitor all forms of leftist hate.
A specific incident cited involved a chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine at George Washington University, which projected the phrase “glory to our martyrs” on a building in support of the terrorist group Hamas.
Additionally, the Muslim Students Association at American University opted out of an interfaith event due to the participation of a Jewish group that supports Israel, labeling Israel as a “settler-colonial and apartheid state.”
Angelo emphasizes that just because some chapters of Students for Justice in Palestine are not listed, it does not mean they endorse them. For their initial listing, they focused on the most aggressive chapters.
The New Tolerance Campaign defines itself as a watchdog group that challenges the hypocrisy of institutions, civil rights groups, universities and brands claiming to promote tolerance.
Angelo stressed the ongoing effort to document and bring attention to violence-promoting hate from leftist groups.
“Sadly, I don’t think that that number is going to be going down anytime soon. If anything, it’s going to be going up,” Angelo stated.
