(FreePressBeacon.com) – In a powerful statement, President-elect Donald Trump has accused Joe Biden of death sentence sabotage by commuting the penalties of 37 out of 40 death row inmates.

Trump blasted the decision, calling it “senseless,” and promising to pursue death sentences when he returns to the White House.
Trump criticized Biden for commuting the sentences of 37 federal prisoners just before leaving office.
Many of these inmates have been convicted of heinous crimes, including the killing of law enforcement and military personnel.
By sparing their lives, Biden has sparked outrage from many victims’ families and law enforcement advocates who feel justice was denied.
In defense of his actions, Biden cited a moratorium on federal executions.
He argued that this policy reflects his “conscience and experience,” emphasizing the need to prevent further federal executions.
However, Trump labeled this reasoning as inadequate, especially in light of the distress it causes to victims’ relatives.
“Joe Biden just commuted the Death Sentence on 37 of the worst killers in our Country, When you hear the acts of each, you won’t believe that he did this. Makes no sense. Relatives and friends are further devastated. They can’t believe this is happening!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Despite the criticism, Biden’s decision has also garnered praise from anti-death penalty advocates and some religious leaders.
They advocate for a complete abolition of death row, urging Biden to commute the sentences of all federal and military death row inmates.
For some, like the Rev. Sharon Risher, the decision is a step toward a more humane justice system.
In response, Trump remains steadfast in his belief that justice must be served through the death penalty.

“As soon as I am inaugurated, I will direct the Justice Department to vigorously pursue the death penalty to protect American families and children from violent rapists, murderers, and monsters,” Trump vowed.
Whether Biden’s actions will lead to long-term changes in the death penalty debate remains uncertain.
However, as Trump continues to sound off on the issue, the American public finds itself at a crossroads between two vastly different philosophies on justice and punishment.
