(FreePressBeacon.com) – The attacks on the GOP presidential nominee are growing ahead of the elections, as someone got into Lara and Tiffany Trump’s social media profiles and started pushing a crypto scam.
The posts, which are no longer visible on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter), were about World Liberty Financial, a crypto project connected to the Trump family that has not officially kicked off yet.
Both Lara and Tiffany Trump seemed to be backing the project, and they even shared links to a supposed website for it.
Eric Trump, who is Lara’s husband, alerted everyone on X that these profiles were hacked.
“This is a scam!!!” he exclaimed on X. “@LaraLeaTrump and @TiffanyATrump’s Twitter profiles have been compromised!!”
He also praised Elon Musk’s platform for acting fast and locking the accounts “within minutes.” Both Lara and Tiffany Trump’s accounts are back up, and those posts are gone.
Musk himself has thrown his support behind Trump in his third run for the presidency.
An official post from World Liberty Financial on X confirmed the hack: “ALERT: Lara’s and Tiffany Trump’s X accounts have been hacked.”
“Do NOT click on any links or purchase any tokens shared from their profiles. We’re actively working to fix this, but please stay vigilant and avoid scams!” they added.
In the meantime, Trump is trying to win over the Bitcoin crowd in the U.S. by positioning himself as a protector of cryptocurrency against government oversight.
At the Libertarian National Convention in May, he promised the country’s 50 million cryptocurrency owners that he would stop Elizabeth Warren and her team from meddling with their Bitcoin.
Warren has been vocal about needing tighter regulation on crypto to prevent illegal activities.
However, Trump assured crypto users in July that his “job will be to set you free” and turn America into “the crypto capital of the planet and bitcoin superpower of the world.”
He made these remarks at the annual bitcoin conference in Nashville, Tennessee—Bitcoin 2024.
Trump’s campaign for 2024 is also open to taking donations in cryptocurrency. His campaign website states, “President Trump stands ready to embrace new technologies that will Make America Great Again.”
