In a sensational declaration, President Trump has stated that he will “take a look” at potentially deporting Elon Musk, exposing the growing rift between the former allies over fiscal policies.

The feud erupted after Musk publicly criticized Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” claiming it would significantly increase the national debt and remove key protections against government overreach.
The tension between Trump and Musk reached new heights during an interview where the president suggested his newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) might investigate the billionaire entrepreneur.
When asked if Musk, who was born in South Africa and became a U.S. citizen in 2002, could face deportation, Trump responded with a veiled threat.
“DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon,” President Donald Trump warned, adding ominously about potential deportation, “We’ll have to take a look.”
This dramatic falling out comes after Musk had been one of Trump’s most powerful supporters, shattering GOP fundraising records and pledging significant financial backing to the President’s agenda.
Their relationship soured when Musk began criticizing Trump’s signature legislation, which the billionaire claims would add $3.3 trillion to the national debt over the next decade.
Trump countered that Musk’s opposition stems from the bill’s elimination of electric vehicle subsidies that have tremendously benefited Tesla.
“Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa,” the president stated bluntly.
“Elon’s very upset that the EV mandate is gonna be terminated. Not everybody wants an electric car. I don’t want an electric car,” Trump added.
The dispute intensified when Musk threw his support behind Republican Representative Thomas Massie, who opposes the bill, and threatened to form a new political party if it passes.
Musk also vowed to target lawmakers who vote for the legislation in future elections, saying “Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame!”
This political drama has already had real-world consequences.
Tesla’s stock price has declined since the public feud began, and Trump has hinted at reviewing the billions in government contracts awarded to Musk’s companies, especially SpaceX, which relies heavily on federal funding.
The conflict highlights the growing divisions within the Republican Party over fiscal policy and government spending.
While Trump maintains his signature bill will strengthen America’s economy and security, critics like Musk argue it represents precisely the kind of bloated government spending that conservatives have traditionally opposed.
Trump, however, remains confident that Republicans will stand firm behind his agenda despite Musk’s threats.
“I don’t think he should be playing that game with me,” the President warned, suggesting that DOGE might investigate the substantial government subsidies Musk’s companies receive.
Reporter: Are you going to deport Elon Musk?
Trump: We'll have to take a look. We might have to put DOGE on Elon. You know what DOGE is? The monster that might have to go back and eat Elon. Wouldn’t that be terrible? He gets a lot of subsidies. pic.twitter.com/6I0OAIv7Js

With both men known for their uncompromising stances and willingness to engage in public feuds, this conflict seems unlikely to be resolved quietly.
American patriots are now watching closely to see whether the party will prioritize fiscal discipline or rally behind the President’s legislative agenda.
