White House Cocaine Mystery Grows

(FreePressBeacon.com) – Without announcing any breakthrough or suspects, the Secret Service is letting the mystery grow by revealing that cocaine discovered last year at the White House had been “disposed of” in line with its policy.

This statement came in response to a report that highlighted disagreements within the agency about the handling of the drugs after a partial DNA match was found.

Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi confirmed in an email, “The evidence from that investigation was disposed of in accordance with retention policies.”

He refuted as “false” the allegations that claimed that then-Director Secret Service Kimberly Cheatle had intended to destroy the cocaine but was opposed by her team, who insisted on sticking to a seven-year retention rule for evidence.

RealClearPolitics cited insiders who claimed that after the cocaine was discovered on July 2, 2023, following a Biden family event, Cheatle or her representative contacted forensics vault supervisor Matt White, urging him to discard the evidence to conclude the case quickly.

The Secret Service wrapped up its investigation only 11 days after the drug was found, without interviewing any suspects. This suggests a lack of interest in uncovering the details of this troubling find.

The specifics of when the cocaine was destroyed remain vague, including whether there was any follow-up on the DNA match.

Cheatle’s reported push to dispose of the cocaine drew attention, especially since she had been appointed after Jill Biden and her chief aide Anthony Bernal campaigned in her favor.

However, Cheatle’s suggestion met resistance from Secret Service forensics division head Glenn Dennis and Uniformed Division acting chief Richard Macauley, who both advised against destroying the evidence.

“A decision was made not to get rid of the evidence, and it really pissed off Cheatle,” a source disclosed to RealClearPolitics.

Following a security breach and an attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, Cheatle resigned on July 23.

Guglielmi did not address claims about the partial DNA hit or alleged consequences against Macauley for his opposition.

The cocaine was found in a locker near the Situation Room. These lockers are used for storing personal items like cellphones, sparking rumors that the Biden family was involved, but the White House quickly dismissed the claims as “irresponsible.”
