(FreePressBeacon.com) – An infuriating incident connected to an illegal alien has occurred when Ahmad Jamal Khamees Alhendi’s reckless bomb threat left thousands stranded as authorities scrambled to shut down a stretch of Interstate 85 in Greenville, South Carolina.

His claims of a bomb on board were unfounded, wasting resources and endangering public safety.

The incident kicked off when an officer stopped a tractor-trailer due to a missing license plate, which is a basic traffic enforcement issue.

Alhendi, the driver from Oak Lawn, Illinois, reacted bizarrely by claiming there was an explosive device in his vehicle, escalating the situation into a bomb threat emergency.

Law enforcement, including the FBI, swiftly responded to address the threat and secure the area.

The bomb threat led to the total shutdown of Interstate 85 for around five hours.

Greenville County Sheriff’s deputies, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), and the FBI were involved in ensuring the highway’s safety.

After a thorough investigation, they found no explosives, allowing them to reopen all lanes of traffic by approximately 7:40 p.m.

Meanwhile, drivers affected by the closure faced considerable inconvenience as they awaited clearance to proceed.

Following this deliberate false alarm, Alhendi faced serious charges, including transmitting false information regarding a bomb threat and breach of peace.

His immigration status also became a point of contention, resulting in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placing a detainer on him.

His bond was set at $20,238, placing him under significant legal custody.

Ahmad Jamal Khamees Alhendi now finds himself under multiple charges due to his reckless and costly prank.

Beyond his false bomb claim, other violations, such as driving without a proper vehicle license, added to his legal troubles.

Questions about his legal status in the U.S. drew attention, as he reportedly entered the country legally in 2018 but failed to comply with his conditions of admittance.

The officer asked the individual, ‘Do you have anything illegal in here? Like marijuana? Cocaine?’ And Alhendi said, ‘I have a small bomb,’ and then, she said, ‘What?’ And then he said, ‘I have a small bomb.’ This is on her body camera and in-car camera,” revealed 13th Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins, cited by WYFF 4.

With the threat resolved without any harm, attention has shifted to Alhendi’s employer, Globe Transportation.

The company, which maintains that their vehicles comply with Department of Transportation regulations, confirmed that the truck’s trailer lost its license plate, causing the initial traffic stop.

Globe Transportation emphasized its commitment to safety and compliance, dismissing any insinuations of hiring unqualified drivers.

Interestingly, Alhendi owns and operates within Globe Transportation with a valid Commercial Driver’s License and an otherwise clean driving record.

Yet, the enormity of this event, driven by an unfounded threat, could lead to more severe career repercussions than anticipated for him.
