(FreePressBeacon.com) – In a bold stance, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene declared that “federal employees do not deserve their paychecks.”

During a House Oversight Committee meeting, Greene lambasted these workers, arguing their roles do not generate revenue and rely purely on taxpayer money. Her statements have sparked controversies, drawing both support and criticism.

Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized federal employees during a recent committee hearing, claiming they “do not deserve their jobs” because they do not produce federal revenue.

She argued that their positions are funded entirely by taxpayer dollars, collected from citizens with “real jobs” generating actual income.

Greene further suggested that protests against mass firings of federal employees should cease.

Under the Trump administration and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, a significant reduction in federal workforce is underway, with further cuts and a freeze on federal grant funds planned.

Despite the criticism, Elon Musk defended his actions.

Appointed as a special government employee by the president, Musk argues his measures are necessary to streamline government operations.

Greene, a staunch supporter, defended Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and dismissed protests against his strategies.

“Those jobs are paid for by the American taxpeople who work real jobs, earn real income, pay federal taxes and then pay these federal employees. Federal employees do not deserve their jobs,” MTG declared, cited by The Independent.

Nevertheless, Greene faced backlash for her comments. Many point out the irony, as she is also a federal employee.

In response, Rep. Veronica Escobar highlighted that thousands of Greene’s constituents are employed by the federal government, questioning her stance.

The criticism does not end there; Greene also faced scrutiny for purchasing Tesla stock while serving on the overseeing committee.

On a positive note, the White House introduced a “deferred resignation” program for laid-off federal employees, offering financial incentives.

This initiative led to nearly 75,000 voluntarily accepting the offer.

However, Greene’s continued rhetoric against federal workers frames the ongoing debate about bureaucracy, efficiency, and real job creation.

“You can protest all you want outside of departments of this government, you can protest all you want, but the American people disagree with you. You’re protecting the bureaucracy. The bureaucracy is not a business,” MTG concluded.
