Monper posted chilling statements that prompted swift action from federal authorities.

As the nation grapples with increasing political tensions, this case underscores the urgent need to address threats to national security.

Federal officials have charged Shawn Monper with making threats to assassinate President Trump and public service members, including ICE agents.

The FBI and Butler Township Police launched an investigation after Monper’s disturbing online activity came to light.

Statements allegedly made by Monper included intentions to carry out a mass shooting, a direct attack against peaceful law enforcement who protect our nation’s borders every day.

The FBI identified these threats through Monper’s YouTube channel, where he allegedly referred to ICE agents as “terrorist people” and threatened a violent “American Revolution 2.0.”

These incendiary remarks demonstrate an unsettling level of hostility and disregard for the rule of law, directly challenging the security provided by our government.

Authorities acted swiftly, apprehending Monper before any of his alleged plans could be realized.

Attorney General Pamela Bondi commended the law enforcement agencies involved, stating, “I want to applaud the outstanding and courageous investigative work of the FBI and the Butler Township Police Department, who thankfully identified and apprehended this individual before he could carry out his threats against President Trump’s life and the lives of other innocent Americans.”

Monper’s internet activity was traced back to his Butler residence, linking him to a series of threats online.

Investigators reported that Monper obtained a firearms permit shortly after Trump’s inauguration, with suggestions of buying additional weapons.

In recent months, Monper had allegedly made comments about planning a mass shooting, escalating the urgency of federal intervention.

Despite these charges, it is important to underscore that a criminal complaint is an accusation, and Monper is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan J. McKenna will prosecute the case, ensuring justice is served in alignment with American values of law and order.

The defense of our national leaders and ICE officers must remain paramount as they serve their citizen’s safety.
