Early Saturday morning, the resort faced vandalism as activists defaced the grounds with messages opposing Trump’s policy proposals for Gaza.
This bold act of dissent has drawn national attention and controversy.
The activists, part of Palestine Action, targeted the lavish resort by spray-painting “Gaza is not for sale” in bold letters across the manicured lawns.
They further escalated the vandalism by digging up various golf greens, causing significant disruption to the course’s operations, The New York Post reports.
This incident was a direct response to Trump’s controversial proposal to resettle the Palestinian population from Gaza, a plan vehemently rejected by Palestinians.
The activists aimed to send a clear message opposing what they view as Trump’s unjust treatment towards Gaza, expressed vividly through their graffiti slogans.
Scottish authorities have launched an investigation into what a Trump representative called a “childish, criminal act.”
The activists, however, remain unapologetic, claiming the act illustrates resistance to Trump’s policies.
In their statement, Palestine Action declared, “To make that clear, we have shown him that his own property is not safe from acts of resistance.”
